Having SSH do the extension and renovation to our family home was the best decision we made. They delivered everything we were hoping for and much more. There were many things that we were pleasantly surprised by:

All the trades that they brought into our home delivered the same level of service and finish as each other Above all was their consideration for our and our family. We always knew that living through this extensive and naturally intrusive process would be challenging with a four-year-old and a two-year-old and yet every individual that entered our home from SSH always had the consideration of our family and our life in their mind. They were a pleasure to do business with and hope we have the opportunity to ask them to do more work for us in the future.

SSH Construction have completed numerous work for us including a kitchen and bathroom refurbishment. We are always extremely pleased with the work completed and the finish is to a very high standard. They are very reliable, always arriving early and working hard to complete the project in reasonable timeframes. They are very clean and tidy and always leave the property as they found it. We always feel comfortable leaving SSH at the house when we are out and all workers are polite and professional, overcoming any obstacles as they occur. Communication from SSH throughout the project is always excellent. I would highly recommend SSH.

Well what can we say about SSH construction LTD from Sutton Coldfield. We contacted this company after it was recommended by a landscape gardener who was doing some work for us in January 2012. He gave us the name of Steve Stokes, who is part of the company, and in turn one of the owners Ian Heath arrived at our home like a whirlwind. He talked for England, but guess what he knew his stuff, very very knowledgeable. We told him what we wanted, our garage converted into two rooms to accommodate a bathroom at the rear of the build and a utility room at the front, windows at the front. We also asked for a pitched roof to replace, the existing flat roof on the garage. Ian did some drawings and said he would get back to us. He did this within a couple of days, and we agreed a price, with a start date for February as we were going away that month at the end. He agreed a timescale of 3 weeks, planning consent he would obtain and have proper plans drawn up. The contract was detailed and very efficient, with agreed staged payment dates. Ian was very professional, very friendly and knows his stuff. The crew turned up on the Monday. By the end of the week the majority of the major work had been done ie no more garage but a shell of what was to become our new two rooms. All the lads were very polite, professional, tidy in their work, and mindful of their surroundings. They became like part of the family. At the end of each day everything was cleaned up nothing was too much trouble for them. If we or they had any concerns about any of the details of the build nothing was again to much trouble. Make sure you keep them filled up with tea coffee and even biscuits. They finished the job within the agreed timescale, they always stayed beyond 8 or 9 hours making sure their work was finished. They did exactly what had been agreed. Would we recommend them ....Too right we would. We consider them friends, especially Ian.

It is with genuine delight and satisfaction that we recommend SSH as builder and project contractors. The SSH team helped us realize our dream home through expert planning, design and true craftsmanship. The quality of their work is exceptional. We had a lengthy list of specific requests and ideas, they respected these with no hesitation, no request was too menial or too much trouble. Ian even tweaked our designs and with clever use of space gave me an airing cupboard as an extra! Given the size of the project and the invasive nature, we were particularly impressed with the great care that was taken to protect our existing home and the fact the site was left clean and tidy daily made the experience more pleasant to live through. The whole team was friendly, professional and courteous. We never felt uncomfortable with them in our home and the children actually missed them when they’d gone! We cannot say enough positive things about SSH and judging by our friends’ and family’s’ reaction and comments, neither can they! I would highly recommend the team at SSH. We were anxious about starting our big project but as soon as they arrived we knew we were in safe hands. Steve and Ian worked seamlessly with our architect and spent time with us on site to make sure the end product was exactly what we wanted. The project was finished on time and on budget (apart from the extras we added!). All of the lads were respectful that they were working in our home and were a pleasure to have around. We really enjoyed the whole build experience due to the professionalism, experience and personalities of the team at SSH. We will definitely use them again.

Canterbury Cross Primary School is a Grade 2 beautiful building. In the last 3 years the School has undergone a massive transformation with the aid of SSH. Highly skilled carpenters have created a stunning reception area, music and PE cupboards and transformed classrooms. Highly skilled plumbers have created additional staff rooms, fixed broken taps and started to address the 100 year old plumbing issues. Highly skilled electricians have created stunning lighting in the reception area and external lighting. Highly skilled brick layers and roofers have finally resolved endless roof leak problems by correct diagnosis and excellent workmanship. I truly believe that you should only visit a problem once to resolve it and in SSH I have finally found a company whose vision and passion for the building matches mine.

Ssh Construction were appointed to carry out the full renovation of a house we had purchased within the Little Aston conservation area. With hind sight a little more research into the restrictions this placed on development should have been carried out by my husband and myself. In light of challenging planning restrictions the team at Ssh were on board from conception enabling us to work with Lichfield council to fabricate a design that worked with updating the house and also maintaining its spectacular Arts and Crafts character. I can at no point underestimate just how important it is to work with a team that have both vision and skill to not only bring a drawing to life but to be able to cope with the onsite challenges that come with refurbishing a property of age, thus incorporating the new with the old. We had a budget to spend on something we had worked towards for a long time and I can say with certainty that we are incredibly happy with the work carried out and grateful for their ongoing input.
